Several EC students spoke at the Oct. 10 sit-in in the College Mall the night after a female Muslim student was allegedly assaulted in the Schaible Science Center.

Junior Soofia Ahmed denounced the hate and intolerance that appears to be motivating this and other recent incidents on campus.

Junior Carly Notorangelo recounted being with EC student Safia Jilani as she found her locker defaced and then was allegedly assaulted the following week.

EC President Alan Ray and other students and administrators also spoke at the event.

The Elmhurst Police Department and Campus Security are investigating the incident.
